Knobby potatoes

‘Knobby potatoes’ refer to knobs or outgrowths forming off to the side of the main tuber.

Like hollow heart, this disorder is caused by fluctuating growing conditions i.e. hot and dry followed by cool and wet.  The cultivar Russet Burbank is very prone to knobby growth.
