Choosing where to place your garden is full of considerations.

Preparing your site for a no till garden.

No till gardening is a system of gardening where the soil is mulched to prevent soil erosion, conserve water and reduce the pressure of weeds. To build a no till garden, we need to prepare the site for a garden.

What considerations should you have when setting up a no till garden?

Whether you are starting a traditional or no till gardening, the site preparation is the same. The area must have full sun for at least 8 hours of the day. It is beneficial if you have easy access to water and power near your garden site. An area that holds some protection from the wind and is not in a dip that is prone to flooding or early frosts would be ideal.

If the site you have chosen is a grassy area, mow the grass and follow the instructions on this page to prepare your garden site.
