Harebell

Harebells are a common prairie plant, with wire-thin stems and masses of bell shaped blue to mauve flowers for months and months at a time. Growing from 4-18”, these cheery little plants are easy from seed and attract many bees. Although it likes moisture, it is adaptable and resilient and makes a good choice for someone who is new to growing native plants. Sunny conditions with lean soil will ensure that plants stay compact and full of blooms; do not overdo it with these plants in terms of nutrients- they will flop about and become unattractive.
